§ Mr. Anthony StodartIn the year ended 31st March, 1970, the total area of new planting in England was about 13,200 acres of which 44 per cent. was planted by the Forestry Commission and 56 per cent. by private interests. The returns for the year ended 31st March, 1971, are not complete but it is estimated that the results are likely to be roughly of the same order.
