§ 45. Mr. Leslie Huckfield
asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is satisfied with policies and arrangements for the preservation of accepted standards of privacy and confidentiality in the storage of personnel information on computer databanks in Government Departments; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Maudling
The Government are making a comprehensive survey of the categories of personnel information held or likely to be held in the computer systems of Departments, and of the rules governing its use, with a view to considering whether additional safeguards may be required. I cannot anticipate the findings of this survey.
