asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether, in order to complete the Croydon Development Plan and provide additional accommodation for commuters, he will now authorise the rebuilding of East Croydon station.

Insofar as the rebuilding of the station is dependent upon a comprehensive scheme involving an office content a meeting took place last week at the Department as a result of which specific proposals may be coming forward in due course.
