Nabarroasked the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications what is his latest estimate of the losses incurred by the Post Office Corporation consequent upon the postal strikes; and what additional loans or other financial support he now proposes to grant to the corporation to prevent financial collapse.
§ Mr. ChatawayThe Post Office estimates that the strike has cost the postal business about £27 million. With the approval of the Treasury, I have consented to a further temporary increase in the Post Office's limit of borrowings from the Bank of England.
