asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is her policy with regard to the proposed new polytechnic in Lancashire; and if she will make a statement.

The Lancashire and Preston local education authorities were invited last August to prepare a scheme for the establishment of a polytechnic to be based on the Harris College, Preston.
