HL Deb 04 March 1971 vol 315 cc1591-2WA

asked Her Majesty's Government:

In view of Gibraltar's anxiety regarding "consultation before action" on aviation matters affecting communications to and from the Rock, whether it is intended to safeguard her rights in the new legislation to set up a Civil Aviation Authority and introducing a new system of licensing for air services, in the event of Section 5(2)(h) of the Civil Aviation (Licensing) Act 1960 being superseded, bearing in mind Regulations 9(1), 20(1) and 21(1) of S.I. 1964 No. 1116.

The Government are aware of Gibraltar's interest in the question. The Gibraltar Government has already requested that Gibraltar should be given the opportunity of discussing the most effective means of making its views known to the proposed Civil Aviation Authority and this request will receive sympathetic consideration.
