HC Deb 04 March 1971 vol 812 cc515-6W
76. Mr. Turton

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will specify the institutional changes he has requested the European Economic Community to make.

Mr. Rippon

Her Majesty's Government accept the Treaty of Rome, including those parts of it which relate to the institutions of the European Community. The institutions are not the subject of negotiations. If we become a member of the enlarged Community we shall play a full rôle in the development of the Community's institutions.
