asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what was the total expenditure on private property in Glasgow to effect repairs after the great storm in January, 1968; how much was advanced by the Corporation of Glasgow out of public funds; how much has been repaid; and what has been the cost to public funds to date.129W
§ Mr. Gordon Campbell
In repairing private houses damaged by the storm, Glasgow Corporation incurred a total expenditure of £6.4 million. To help the Corporation meet this expenditure, the Government made a loan of £3.9 million, and so far £500,000 of this loan has been repaid by the Corporation.
