§ Mr. Adam Butlerasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether the rate support grant to be given to councils to compensate for lower revenue due to re-rating under the Mines and Quarries (Valuation) Order, 1971, will be in full; and when this will be paid in respect of the 1971–72 financial year.
§ Mr. Graham PageThose local authorities whose rateable values are reduced and which qualify for the resources element of the rate support grant will have their loss of rate income almost exactly made good by increases in this element of their grant. The resources element for 1971–72 will be recalculated and the payments adjusted later in the current financial year.
