asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will:

(1) confirm that the Subscriber Trunk Dialling service has now been installed in more than 90 per cent. of all the telephone exchanges in the whole of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland; and

(2) state (a) in what telephone exchanges in the County of Kent the service has yet to be installed; (b) when it will be installed in such exchanges; and (c) why, pending installation, subscribers on such exchanges should have to pay the penal rate for placing calls through the operator.

Provision of Subscriber Trunk Dialling facilities is a matter for the Post Office.
