§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs (1) whether he will give details of the help and assistance which his Department has given to the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association during the past 12 months;
(2) whether, before giving financial and other forms of assistance to the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association he will ensure that they operate a democratic procedure regarding the selection of their delegations to the countries of the Commonwealth.
§ Mr. GodberThe Foreign and Commonwealth Office maintains a close liaison with the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association and renders what assistance it can when asked to do so. The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association receives no grant in aid from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
