§ Mr. Spenceasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if, in view of the Government's economic proposals of 19th July and the Confederation of British Industry's statement he will now review the fixed-price tendering rule with regard to publicly financed works.
§ Mr. AmeryAs I have told representatives of industry, the firm price policy for construction works is kept under regular review. The Government's recent proposals and the arrangement set out in the C.B.I.'s statement will improve the economic conditions within which the construction industry is operating.
