§ Sir K. JosephThe latest projections, based on the mid-1970 population estimates, give a total population of 569 million for Great Britain in 1980. The comparable figure in the preceding 1969-based projections, published last year, was 57.0 million. Details of the 1970-based projections, including the assumptions underlying them, will shortly be published in "Population projections 1970–2010".
