§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he is aware that, since 16th June, 1970, the average price of food has increased by 10.4 per cent. and milk by 8.7 per cent.; and to what extent he estimates the minimum import price arrangement operative from 1st July, 1971, on fresh cream, canned cream, skimmed milk powder, whole milk powder, and condensed milk will increase the price of these foods in particular and the average price of food in general.
§ Mr. PriorNo levies are in operation for these products and, while world prices remain at or about present levels, the effect on food prices of the minimum import price scheme for milk products will be negligible.
