§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware that in June, September, October and November, 1970, there were reductions in employees in employment varying between 341,000 in June, 249,000 in September, 173,000 in October, and 205.000 in November, and that in July, 1970, unemployment increased by 285,000, in August by 373,000, in September by 211,000, in November by 47,000, and December by 196,000; what were the reasons for these figures; and what action he has taken, or intends taking, to change this situation.
