asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs (1) whether he will publish a White Paper on the advantages and disadvantages to the pottery industry of Great Britain joining the Common Market;

(2) whether he will publish a White Paper on the advantages and disadvantages to the computer industry of Great Britain joining the Common Market;

(3) whether he will publish a White Paper on the advantages and disadvantages to the steel industry of Great Britain joining the Common Market;

(4) whether he will publish a White Paper on the advantages and disadvantages to the coal industry of Great Britain joining the Common Market;

(5) whether he will publish a White Paper on the advantages and disadvantages to the electrical equipment manufacturing industry of Great Britain joining the Common Market.

No. Her Majesty's Government believe that entry into the European Communities would be beneficial to British industry generally. At this stage of the negotiations it is not possible to be more precise about individual industries, the effects on which will, in any case, depend on their response to the wider opportunities.
