§ Mr. Goldingasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science when the universities may expect firm commitments on resources from the Government for the period 1972 to 1977.
§ Mrs. ThatcherI hope to announce a provisional recurrent grant for the academic year 1972–73 towards the end of 1971 and the grants for the whole of the 1972–1977 quinquennium in the summer or autumn of 1972. This is the same timing as the previous Government followed in settling the grants for the present quinquennium and has been agreed with the University Grants Committee.
