§ Sir R. Russellasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what steps are being taken to encourage the development and use of new methods for the testing of drugs.
§ Mrs. ThatcherStudies in progress under the auspices of the Medical Research Council and in university departments, particularly in the fields of biochemistry and pharmacology, play an important part in advancing the methodology of drug testing. In addition, the Council is always ready to consider giving financial support for new lines of investigation which hold promise of further advance in this direction.
