§ 77. Mr. Sheldonasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what studies have been carried out into the impact of the proposed Channel Tunnel on the economy and environment of the South-East.
§ Mr. PeytonThe implications of a Channel Tunnel were taken into account by the South-East Joint Planning Team whose report has been published. A special examination of the environmental aspects was carried out during 1968 and 1969 in conjunction with the Kent County Council, the South-East Economic Planning Council and other local interests.
