asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will publish figures showing the number of United Kingdom citizens resident in Commonwealth countries who either were born in the United Kingdom, or have a parent or grandparent born in the United Kingdom, or are naturalised

the years 1967, 1968 and 1969; and of these how many held on entry:

  1. (i) a 1st class degree;
  2. (ii) a 2nd class degree;
  3. (iii) a post-graduate degree;
  4. (iv) a doctorate;
in each case (a) in the Administrative Class, and (b) in the Scientific Officer Class, of the Civil Service;

(2) what percentage of those serving in the Administrative Class as a whole on January, 1970, had a degree.

United Kingdom citizens; and whether they will publish separate figures for each country (or colony, etc., as the case may be).
