asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer when further reports are now expected from Professor Reddaway in regard to selective employment tax; what action had been taken on the Reddaway Report dealing with the Distributive Trades; and if he will make a statement.

On the first part of the hon. Member's Question, I would refer him to my reply of 3rd December to the hon. Member for Farnworth (Mr. Roper).
As regards Professor Reddaway's report on the Distributive Trades, the Chancellor of the Exchequer under the last administration took no action in his Budget last year. I cannot anticipate my right hon. Friend's Budget Statement.—[Vol. 807, c. 472.]
