§ Mr. Evelyn Kingasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make a statement about shares of the United Kingdom bacon market in 1971–72.
§ Mr. PriorAfter consultation with the Bacon Market Council in accordance with the provisions of the international Bacon Market Sharing Understanding, the Government have determined the total quantity required on the United Kingdom market in the 12 months beginning April, 1971, as 650,000 tons, an increase of 8,500 tons over the determination for 1970–71. The expected level of production in the United Kingdom is determined at 265,000 tons, an increase of 26,000 tons over the 1970–71410W figure. The remaining 385,000 tons is allocated to the exporting countries as follows:
