§ Mr. Muddasked the Secretary of State for Social Services when it is proposed to commence work on the next phase of the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Trelishe, Truro; what additional facilities this phase will provide; and whether the provision of these facilities will result in any cut-back in facilities currently provided at Falmouth, Redruth, or Hayle.
§ Mr. AlisonThe South Western Regional Hospital Board is planning to provide additional beds and supporting services, including an accident and emergency department, in the next phase of the development of the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Treliske. It is not yet practicable to give a date when building will start nor to foresee the effect of the new provision on the existing hospital facilities in the area.
