§ Mr. Darlingasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if, in view of the increase in thefts of platinum from steel works and other metal-using firms, he will seek to amend the Scrap Metal Dealers Act so that platinum is included among the metals for which records of deliveries and sales are required to be kept.
§ Mr. SharplesI have been asked to reply. My right hon. Friend has no present plans for legislation to amend the Scrap Metal Dealers Act; but he is aware of the problem and will keep it under review.
