§ Mr. Dudley SmithMy Department does not incur any expenditure which is specifically directed to industrial safety training. It is one of the duties of the Factory Inspectorate to enforce the relevant legal requirements in premises subject to the Factories Act. The Inspectorate also carries out a good deal of advisory work and gives some assistance on training courses. It is not possible to estimate what proportion of the expenditure on the Inspectorate is attributable to these activities. My Department also provides Training Within Industry Job Safety Courses, for which fees are charged.
