asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry (1) how many applications for industrial development certificates in the Northern Region have been withdrawn since 27th October, 1970; and how many jobs are involved;

(2) if any applications for industrial development certificates in West Cumberland have been withdrawn since 27th October, 1970, and what was the number of jobs involved.
