§ Mr. Trewasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what are the arrangements for the control of disease in imported flowers.
§ Mr. Anthony StodartImported cut flowers are not subject to any special plant health controls: but, as with all imported plants and plant produce, check inspections are carried out and any consignments found to be affected by pests or diseases would be refused admission if there were any danger to home production. Because of the increasing risk of a fungus disease, gladiolus rust, being introduced, it is intended shortly to apply certain restrictions on the import of gladiolus spikes.
