HC Deb 04 February 1971 vol 810 c426W
Mr. Dormand

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether, when she is drawing up the next major building programme, she will increase the resources allocated to the authorities concerned for schools for handicapped and maladjusted children.

Mrs. Thatcher

The total building programme for special education is now fixed for 1971–72 at £7.1 million. Approximately one third of this is allocated to the needs of the physically handicapped and the maladjusted. I shall keep the needs of this sector of the capital programme in future years under careful review.
