HC Deb 14 December 1971 vol 828 cc70-1W
Q19. Mr. John D. Grant

asked the Prime Minister if he will make a statement on his talks with the Trades Union Congress General Council.

The Prime Minister

Several of my right hon. Friends and I met the General Council of the Trades Union Congress on 1st December to discuss the employment situation. We described the various measures already taken to stimulate economic expansion and reaffirmed the Government's determination to bring down the level of unemployment. I greatly welcomed this opportunity to hear the views of the T.U.C., which are being fully considered.
