asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will introduce a Bill to repeal Section 48 of the Transport Act, 1968.

No. The powers in the Transport Acts, 1962 and 1968, are sufficient to enable my right hon. Friend to curb activities under Section 48 of the 1968 Act, should he decided to do so.
