§ Q10. Mr. Stonehouseasked the Prime Minister whether he will seek an urgent meeting with President Yahya Khan to press for the release of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman from detention, in order to facilitate a political settlement to the human disaster in East Bengal.
§ The Prime MinisterSheikh Mujibur Rahman's detention is the responsibility of the Government of Pakistan. I have no plans for a meeting with President Yahya Khan. We are, however, in close touch, although it would not be right for me to, discuss the details of our communications.
