§ 56. Dr. Dickson Mabonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what reply he has made to the submission sent to 128W him by Lord Clydesmuir as Chairman of the Scottish Council of Development and Industry on 22nd March, 1971, concerning the British steel industry's future in Scotland.
§ Mr. Gordon CampbellThe memorandum restates and expands views expressed to me on 26th February when I met a representative group from the Scottish Council. As I said at that meeting, I am fully aware of the importance for Scotland of the modernisation of the British steel industry.
