§ Mr. Elystan Morganasked the Secretary of State for Wales if, in view of the traditionally higher level of production costs experienced by farmers in Wales, he will institute a survey of these costs in the Principality.
§ Mr. Gibson-WattInformation about farmers' costs and returns in Wales is already available from samples of farms in the Farm Management Survey, the National Investigation into the Economics of Milk Production and other surveys undertaken by universities in England and Wales. This does not suggest that the costs of production on Welsh farms are generally higher than on comparable farms in England.
