HC Deb 29 October 1970 vol 805 c170W
65. Mr. Iremonger

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department when he expects to have the report of the committee which is studying the law relating to privacy; and if he will take interim steps to prevent offensive matter being sent unsolicited through the mails.

Mr. Carlisle

It is too early to fix any firm date, but the Committee hopes that it will be possible for it to submit its report by the end of next year. My right hon. Friend will keep under review the issue raised in the second part of the Question.
