Mr. Chapman

asked the Minister for the Civil Service if he will give instructions to Government Departments to ensure that the nationality regulations of the Civil Service, safeguarded by Section 27(9) of the Race Relations Act 1968, are invoked only when necessary and appropriate.

Departments are already fully advised on the operation and implications of the Race Relations Act, 1968.
