During the same period one appeal was heard at Leicester and dismissed. Most of the appeals from Commonwealth citizens so far heard relate to the refusal of entry certificates. In addition, 38 appeals were heard at London Airport, Gatwick, Dover, Harwich and Southampton

From July 1 to October 5, 1970, the appellate authorities received 232 appeals from Commonwealth citizens (of which 11 were later withdrawn) and 65 from aliens (of which 8 were later withdrawn). The number of appeals disposed of by adjudicators at London, Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds during this period was as follows:

against decisions by the Immigration Service and all were dismissed.

During the same period the number of cases in which a further appeal was brought to the Immigration Appeal Tribunal against an adjudicator's decision was as follows:
