§ Mr. Peter ThomasA survey of the state of the rivers of England and Wales is being undertaken by the Department of the Environment and the Welsh Office, in collaboration with river authorities. A full report will be published late next year and will provide an assessment of the cost of restoring polluted rivers to a satisfactory condition and of maintaining them in that condition.
