asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food by what percentage he expects food prices to have risen during 1970.

Between January, 1970 and October, 1970 (the latest month for which figures are available) the Retail Food Price Index rose by 5 per cent. It is not the practice to forecast the future level of the Index.

63 and 64. Mr. Dormand

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (1) what is his estimate of the effect, since June, 1970, of competition on the price of non-alcoholic drinks;

(2) what is his estimate of the effect, since June, 1970, of competition on the price of butter.
