HC Deb 24 November 1970 vol 807 cc85-6W
75. Mr. Wellbeloved

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will appoint an interdepartmental inquiry into the employment problems of the disabled.

Mr. Dudley Smith

While I do not think that an interdepartmental inquiry is necessary, particularly in view of the study of the disabled undertaken by the Government Social Survey, my right hon. Friend has asked me to look closely at the situation to see if there are any additional steps we could take at the present time to help reduce the level of unemployment among the disabled.
