§ Mr. Gowerasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will state the total number of persons employed at the latest available date in advance factories which have been erected in North Wales, Mid-Wales and South Wales, respectively.
§ Sir J. EdenIn October, advance factories authorised under the Local Employment Acts were providing 1,200 jobs in North Wales and 2,710 jobs in South Wales. Advance factories in Mid-Wales were not provided under the Local Employment Acts.
§ Mr. Gwynoro Jonesasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry when he will announce a further allocation of advance factories to Wales; and if he will include the Carmarthen constituency in any allocation.
§ Sir J. EdenI will consider further advance factories in Wales when more of those now available or still to be built are disposed of. The needs of the Carmarthen constituency will be borne in mind.
