§ Mr. Merlyn Reesasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department on what date Mr. R. Dutschke entered this country; what legal conditions of entry was imposed upon him on this occasion; on what date or dates he was granted an extension of his stay; on what date he applied to change his condition of entry; and in what way.
§ Mr. MaudlingMr. Dutschke was admitted to the United Kingdom on 10th December, 1968 for a stay of one month in the first place. In response to applications based on his state of health, the period was extended on 22nd January, 1969, 17th July, 1969 and 27th January, 1970. An application for extension based on a three-year course of study was made on 4th July, 1970. This has not been approved, but on 1st September an extension was given to allow his family to arrange for their departure. Mr. Dutschke is aware that he may remain here pending settlement of his appeal.
