§ Mr. J. H. Osborn
asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what has been the number of houses built to date in the private and public sectors, respectively, this year; what is his revised estimate for total construction in the current year; and how this compares with the previous two years.
§ Mr. Channon
From the beginning of January to the end of September this year, 133,000 public sector and 123,700 private sector dwellings were completed in Great Britain.
The overall total of completions in 1970 is likely to be rather lower than the 1969 figure of 366,800 and well below the 413,700 completed in 1968.
