§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether, in view of the Government's decision to increase the salaries of the Comptroller and Auditor General from £9,800 per annum to £14,000 per annum, he will give the reasons why he will not take whatever action may be necessary to increase the salaries of all personnel in the health and welfare services by 43 per cent.
§ Sir K. JosephThese salaries generally are settled by collective bargaining. As regards doctors and dentists I am currently discussing with the professions arrangements for the re-establishment of an independent Review Body to advise the Government.
