asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many deaths have been recorded over the last five years of males who have not been covered by National Insurance.

The numbers of male deaths in Great Britain which did not attract death grant under the National Insurance Act are estimated to be as follows:

1965 60,000
1966 55,000
1967 45,000
1968 40,000
1969 35,000
