asked the Minister of State for Defence if he is aware that an undersea gas pipeline is exposed on the seabed of the North Sea; and whether, in view of the fact that Belgian trawler fleets are ignoring Admiralty warning notices, he will take further action in this case.

I understand that parts of the gas pipelines on the seabed of the North Sea have been exposed as a result of tidal action on the surface of the seabed.

Any action in respect of the activities of Belgian trawlers would be a matter in the first place for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs.
