§ Mr. Anthony GrantThe Investment Intentions Inquiry, taken in August/September 1970, indicated an increase of about 2 to 3 per cent. in manufacturing industry's investment in real terms between 1969 and 1970, after adjusting the 1969 figures for the distortion associated with the reduction in investment grant rates at the end of 1968: for 1971 no great change from the 1970 level was indicated. In the inquiry companies' forecasts were collected only for calendar years as a whole.
