HC Deb 12 November 1970 vol 806 cc255-6W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Lord President of the Council whether he is aware of the practice adopted by Ministers of accepting Parliamentary Questions for answer and a day or so before these are due to be answered notifying the Member that these have been switched to another Minister for answer; and whether he will see that such information is dispatched much more speedily to the Members concerned.

Mr. Whitelaw

I could not accept that this is a deliberate practice adopted by Ministers. If the hon. Member has a particular case in mind which might have given him such an impression, perhaps he would care to write to me.
