HC Deb 10 November 1970 vol 806 cc76-7W
53. Mr. Chichester-Clark

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many cases of illness from contact with heracleum mentegall ziamium, giant hogweed, have been reported in the United Kingdom this year; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Alison

Comprehensive information is not available, but I am aware of reports of a small number of cases in the medical and other Press. I am advised that the effects of contact are rarely serious.
