§ Mr. Merlyn Reesasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will initiate and co-ordinate discussions with and between the Yorkshire and Humberside Planning Council and all the relevant local authorities concerning the need and siting of an international airport for Yorkshire and Humberside.
§ Mr. Anthony GrantNo; it is for the local interests to take the initiative if they consider such action is required. The Department will, of course, provide what assistance it can on technical aspects of the matter.
