HC Deb 09 November 1970 vol 806 c69W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware that school caretakers, resident porters and caretakers of both public and private buildings who have to live on the premises and are allocated flats, etc., are assessed on the worth of these premises as an emolument liable for tax; and why a similar procedure is not adopted for Ministers of the Crown and other persons connected with Parliament who enjoy these tax-free benefits.

Mr. Patrick Jenkin

I would refer the hon. Member to my answer on 3rd November to his similar question.—[Vol. 805; c. 323.]
